Ron Paul supporters bring about change at county convention

Title: Ron Paul supporters bring about change at county convention

CHICKASHA — It was standing room only at the traditionally quiet Grady County Republican Convention on Monday night in Chickasha.

With many of the new faces in the crowd sporting Ron Paul t-shirts and ball caps, it was obvious what caused the increase in attendance.

The Ron Paul supporters came to the meeting with the intent of being named as delegates to the Oklahoma fourth district convention and the state convention, where they hope to help send like-minded delegates to the national GOP convention later this year.

Matt Burke, Grady County coordinator for the Ron Paul campaign, alerted fellow Paul supporters to the date and time of the county convention and stressed the importance of signing up to be a delegate.

Burke and his wife, Michelle, who live in Blanchard, have been in contact with the Ron Paul campaign and county Paul supporters and undecideds. They also run a Facebook page for the candidate, "Grady County, OK for Ron Paul."

My delegate candidacy has been challenged – Indiana

So I followed what I thought were all of the instructions for filing for my candidacy to be a delegate for my precinct here in Johnson County. Well, I received a call from the courthouse yesterday...apparently I neglected to file a form with the County Chairman that he requires due to my lack of experience and history with the Republican party. There's a public hearing on Friday February 24 to discuss my candidacy. Anyone can speak on my behalf, and I can speak for myself, but I'll be in Chicago this weekend! And I can't reschedule.
I'm pretty frustrated. They're right...I don't have a history with the Republican party, but I don't have a history with either party. I just turned 23 and I want to get more involved than I was four years ago. In 2008, I was Paul supporter, but I was 19 and didn't get registered in time for the primary.

I just wonder if I'm being called out because I'm 23 and a presumed Paul supporter. In fact, I probably wouldn't have even known about it in time had I not been called. The woman on the phone said they sent out a letter, but because of the short amount of warning I would have if I got the letter in time, she felt like she needed to call me even though they usually don't call.
I hope this isn't happening elsewhere. And I hope there are supporters in Johnson County who are making it through this hoop.

Fed Exposed On Phoenix Radio

On Monday, I was driving through Phoenix, AZ, listening to financial news radio. I nearly wrecked my truck when I heard this informational crash course on the scam that is the Federal Reserve. This was broadcast across the Phoenix metro area during rush hour. Though no mention was made of Ron Paul, the breakdown of the Fed was every bit as complete as his analysis.

Hopefully, some of the listeners will hear the similarity of the host’s words in Dr. Paul's debate performance on the 22nd. Maybe it will culminate into a good turnout for Ron Paul in the Arizona GOP primary on the 28th.

How Ron Paul is Unifying American Voters

The typical scenario of a presidential election cycle: Candidates clashing over left vs. right. Politicians making promises they never keep. Flip flops. Political scandals. All this inspires resentment of politics; and many people decide not to have anything to do with it.

This election season has been no different. But when we look at the republicans running for president, there is one who strikes a different chord. Only one has a consistent voting record aligned with principle. Only one seems foreign to the political game. His name is Ron Paul.

Interestingly, he has managed to gain traction with demographics traditionally considered democrat strongholds. Out of all the other republicans running he has the most support from young people and minorities. Even progressives jump into his camp, attracted by his stance on foreign policy and civil liberties. Ron Paul has significant support from independents.

★ Ron Paul Patriot Nation ★

Hello!

What have you done for the Ron Paul campaign?!

Did you make a huge sign? Did you cover your car in bumper stickers? Did you spend hours canvasing? Did you donate to the campaign again and again?

Ron Paul Patriot Nation is a new website that is designed to build support for Ron Paul by showcasing the support that he already has. People have come up with some amazing and creative ways to help the Ron Paul 2012 campaign and we'd like to preserve all those things to inspire the rest of the country.

The point is to collect and harness the energy and excitement that comes from the grassroots. So many people do great things and post links to photos of them on sites like this, but they go by fast and get lost in the shuffle. They now have a home!

Although it is fun, this is a real campaign strategy. We need to build more momentum and the grassroots is crucial. Let's get existing supporters to inspire new supporters with all they have done.

I posted a link to this site a couple of weeks back asking for some feedback and I would like to send a big thank you to all those people that submitted "good deeds" early for testing.

Each person that uses the site can accumulate Ron Paul 2012 "good deeds" that correspond to the ways in which they support the campaign. That includes everything big and small, from a bumper-sticker to a hot-air balloon to volunteering to be a delegate.
